Josh's property in Deary and summer jobs....

Josh and I spent the Sunday afternoon taking a walk around the 400+ acres his family has in Deary, ID. It's soo beautiful! We went to his cabin and then walked farther down to the river. There's quartz and mica all along the mountain path and I had to take some. It was fun identifying them since I've been taking a Geology class this semester. =) We had fun climbing around the rocks by the river and just enjoying the smell and beauty of nature. I had no idea that such beauty existed so close to the Moscow area! Josh says people from the East pay lots of money to hunt on his property and just see places like that. =)

I have a summer job offer in the bay area of California and I really hope it works out! I'll have my own private suite (bathroom, tv w/ Tivo, private phone, laptop)! I'll be a nanny...which is what I've wanted to do all along for a summer job. I also can just work and have two jobs in Lewiston all summer (which would probably be assisting a realtor and then just some other job like the movie theater), but this nanny position is a great opportunity. I'll be able to make the most money there, too! We'll see how it goes! =)

I get to move my stuff into my apartment starting this Thursday. =) woo hoo! Things are just coming together so well. I thank Heavenly Father for that. Without Him none of this would have worked out so beautifully. =) Prayers really are answered!

So here is where I'll be living next year! It's the main floor of a house. The upper leve is rented out too. I'm really excited about it. It's an older house, but I love it because it'll have that homey feeling. It'll be fun to be able to have my own room! It'll be a first! Decorating the apartment and my room will be lots of fun. Shaving my legs will be a lot easier now that I'll have a shower with a TUB instead of having to stand up and shave...haha. I have two cool roommates too!

I'm still weighing my options for a summer job. We'll see what happens!

The Duplex

So here are some recent pictures of Josh and I. We were being silly and we didn't really have any good pictures together so I suggested we take some. The two I have a cheesy smile in are like that because I'm laughing! haha. =) Josh and I are doing really well. We are really trying to make this work. That doesn't mean there have been any major, or minor problems. We are just making sure we communicate well with each other, be considerate, not sarcastic and independently dependent at the same time, if that makes sense! =)

Another update is I found a room mate and apartment for next year! =) One less thing to worry about. yay! Now, I just have to find a job. I have some options, but we'll see what I end up doing.

ROAD TRIP!

My trip was a lot of fun! It was me, Josh (my bf), his sister Nicole and her roommate/our friend Desiree. We drove all the way to San Francisco in one day. It only took us about 13 hours instead of the typical 16 it takes to get there. We arrived at Coleen’s house around 9:00pm on Friday the 7th. The next morning (Saturday) she took us around the city for a mini-tour since the rest of them were leaving for LA that same day while I got to stay with Coleen for a couple days. They left around 11am and so Coleen, Todd (bro in-law) and I went to lunch at Boudin's on Pier 39. Their sourdough bread is YUMMY! Todd left from there for a temple trip in Oakland and Coleen continued to show me around San Fran. That day I got to see the Golden Gate bridge, Lombard Street (windiest street in the world), the "Full House" neighborhood, China Town, and the shops and city life. Sunday we slept in and only went to YW. Coleen had to teach the lesson. After church she took me on a hike up Sweeney Ridge. It's so beautiful with all the forest and hills and ocean and it will kick your butt, literally! My butt hurt for the next two days. It was a great work out. We stayed out there for about three hours. Later that night Coleen and I met up with Bridgette (my other sister) at her apartment in the city. Coleen lives in San Bruno which is ten minutes from San Fran. We just hung out and had girl talk. Once Coleen left (I stayed with Bridgette cause she had work in the morning) Bridgette and I watched a movie and read our love matches in a astrology book. Mine was Libra woman - Virgo man relationship and hers was a Gemini woman - Libra man relationship. It was pretty interesting what it had to say. Around noon the next day (Monday) Bridgette showed me around her neighborhood in the city and did a little shopping. We also walked along the coast and I took pictures with my camera from my photo class. We didn't have much time because Bridgette had to work at 3:30pm and Coleen ended up getting off work at 1 pm. We talked and ate lunch at a little grassy area near the hospital where Bridgette works. Once we dropped off Bridgette, Coleen took me to Twin Peaks where you can see the entire city! It was a great view, but it got too cold so we decided to go to Babies-R-Us to register for some things. Bridgette got of work early so we went back to her apartment so she could get ready and we went to Little Italy and had dinner at Pinocchio's. It was delicious! That night was more girl talk until Coleen and I left at 11pm.

The next morning (Tuesday) I flew from San Fran to LA where Josh and his sister Theresa picked me up from the airport. We went to Venice beach (gorgeous!) for lunch and she showed us around the city. I saw the Hollywood sign, where the playboy mansion was, famous bars, Hollywood walk of fame, and of course Venice beach. We got to Upland, CA around 5:00pm where I stayed at Josh's grandparents house. Anyway, his grandparents have some money and they had a beautiful home and a spa in the backyard! While I was there Josh took me around the town and higher up so I could see the lights at night. We got a few slurpees from 711, spent time in the spa every night, watched movies, went and saw 10,000 BC in the theater and ate at Tokyo Kitchen. Great food! They make it right in front of you and light things on fire. hahaha. It was way expensive but you get plenty of food so it's worth it. Luckily his grandma paid for everyone.

Thursday morning we left Upland to head to Las Vegas for part of the day and only ended up spending about an hour there. We left Vegas for Enterprise, UT. We stayed at our friend Alexis’ house for the night and left 8:00am the next morning (Friday) for Rexburg. We got there in the afternoon sometime. I can’t quite remember. That night Josh read me two stories (children’s books, I love them!) and then Josh, his sister and I watched Pocahontas. Saturday morning we walked to the temple(Josh, his two sisters and me). That night we went to Guitars Unplugged where a lot of talented people played music. It was a lot of fun. After that Nicole (one of Josh's older sisters) went to bed and Jenny (Josh's younger sister), her boyfriend, Josh and I went and watched Peter Pan at some people's apartment that Jenny knew. Sunday morning we went to sacrament meeting at 8AM. We were all really tired, but ended up getting on the road around 9:15. We made it back to Moscow around 4:30pm! Good time! =)

That was my trip and I enjoyed every minute of it! I was car sick every time we were in the car, but Josh took care of me. yay! =)

It's been about....6 months..oops.

Well, let's see. It's been about six months since I've written anything, or posted any pictures. School has been going pretty well. I've been keeping up in my classes for the most part and am looking forward to the semester being over so I don't have to go to my CORE class anymore!!! woo!

This summer I'm hoping I'll be able to get a job out of Idaho/Lewiston. Right now I'm thinking of being a nanny, or working at a camp back East, or possibly something up in Alaska. Hopefully if I do something besides being a nanny I could drag my brother Erick with me so he can get into school this fall. I've filled out the FAFSA for him, now he just needs to apply to schools and what not. I hope he does it! He needs the change, he said so himself! =) He's also working on becoming drug free. I'm really proud of him. He's really seeking change, yay!

Next fall, I might be getting an apartment with a girl who lives in my apartment/suite this year(we're not good friends so it should work out fine! She's way cool, too =]). Hopefully that works out. If that doesn't I have no idea where/ with whom I'll be living. =\

My hair..

For those of you who haven't already heard. I got my haircut and had some highlights put in before I left for school. Here I am sporting the collegiate look. My hair is more red because of the highlights, and as you can see I have bangs now! haha. It's a fun change. I love it.

The Lewiston Rodeo

A couple weekends ago I went home and was able to go to the Rodeo with my good friend Kayla Dye. It was a lot of fun to see her and dress up in the country style with my boots and plaid shirt. =) Half of my heart is in love with the country. I have a lot of respect for people who can ride a bull for 8 seconds or 10 seconds or whatever it is. I wouldn't even get close to riding one I'd just run! lol. It's fun to see people doing what they love most. It gets me excited even if it's not something I live for.

College life so far....

It's funny that's it's only been a month since I have lived here in Moscow. It seems like much longer than that. I've adjusted well to school and I've met a lot of new people. It's such a good feeling to just be able to be yourself and not have people expect you to be a certain way. For example, in high school people wouldn't consider me to be outgoing. When I got my new calling as FHE Mom they told me they were looking for outgoing people to do the job. People you went to highschool with don't know you. lol. I've introduced myself to more people in a month than I have in my whole life. It's refreshing.
Ya, so this picture is of my room mate and I. We get along really well! She likes to say it's because I'm a Libra and she's Aquarius, who are supposed to get along really well. It's kind of a joke between us. We are really different, but seem to compliment each other pretty well! Living with her is fun because we're both goofy. :)

The Beginning and the End

So I guess this would be the place to tell you both about my thoughts, feelings and experiences I had going to Oregon and then flying back home. Going to Oregon, or trying to, was an adventure. My flight was supposed to leave July 20th at 6:30PM. Were we boarded on time? No. Did we get to Oregon at all that night? No. My flight ended up being canceled. I had to be bussed to a hotel nearby, stay the night and then wake up around 6AM to be boarded on the plane at 7:15. Did we board on time? Yes! Did I get to Oregon that day? Yes! I finally got to Salem, OR an hour after my plane landed. Brittany's mom was nice enough to come get me from the Portland airport! :) yay for moms.
Going home wasn't a problem. Well, I take that back. Both Brittany and her mother thought I was going back July 30th, instead of the 29th. Brittany had to scramble to find a ride for me to get to the airport on Sunday the 29th. We went from Brittany's mom (she was camping that weekend), Brittany's dad (he had to work), Brittany's step-mom (she had to work, too), Brittany's grandpa (he never returned her call) and then FINALLY we found a ride to the airport with Zak and his mother. yay for moms again! Going home wasn't as much as an adventure as getting to Salem. Did I board my plane on time that Sunday? No. Did I get to Spokane that day? Yes, but a half hour later than expected. I got home to good old Lewiston around 9PM.
Life is an adventure huh? haha.
I definitely enjoyed Oregon. The weather there is perfect and I did NOT miss the 100+ degree weather. Their water is really good too, you don't need a Brita filter to drink water, haha. Another good thing about Oregon, you don't have to pay sales tax...great for shopping! Oh ya and Salem was only a hour away from the coast! How much more perfect can you get? Luckily, I'll be going back October 5th! yay!
